Wealth Over Water

Wealth Over Water is a data-driven visual investigation into Ghana’s illegal mining crisis, exploring how galamsey threatens water resources, forests and cocoa production. Drawing on environmental data, mining statistics and reporting on political influence and enforcement failures, the project examines the economic incentives and governance failures sustaining illegal mining—and the human and environmental costs of a system that continues to thrive.
